הַמַּעֲרֶכֶת הַשִּׁמְשִׁית
The Solar System
הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ הִיא כּוֹכָב גָּדוֹל.
The sun is a big star.
הִיא נוֹתֶנֶת אוֹר וְחֹם.
It gives light and heat.
סָבִיב לַשֶּׁמֶשׁ יֵשׁ כּוֹכְבֵי לֶכֶת.
Around the sun there are planets.
כּוֹכַב הַלֶּכֶת הָרִאשׁוֹן הוּא מֶרְקוּרִי.
The first planet is Mercury.
אַחֲרָיו נוֹגַהּ.
After it comes Venus.
אַחֲרֵי נוֹגַהּ יֵשׁ אֶת הָאָרֶץ.
After Venus there is the Earth.
בָּאָרֶץ אָנוּ גָּרִים.
On Earth we live.
אַחֲרֵי הָאָרֶץ בָּא מַאֲדִים.
After Earth comes Mars.
יֵשׁ גַּם כּוֹכְבֵי לֶכֶת גְּדוֹלִים כְּמוֹ יְרוֹפִיטֶר וְשַׁבְתַּאי.
There are also big planets like Jupiter and Saturn.
הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ וְכָל הַכּוֹכָבִים הֵם הַמַּעֲרֶכֶת הַשִּׁמְשִׁית.
The sun and all the planets are the solar system.
